What People Say

See what our parents and students have to say about our classes!

I have attended toddler and pre-school classes for 6 years now, and Kate's music classes are the best, hands down. She engages each child, always addressing them by name, and encouraging them to participate, according to what suits their development and temperment. I wish my own music teachers had instilled such a joy of learning!! Kate is clearly the leader of the class, but takes her lead from the students and their interests and abilities. Kate's classes are always fully subscribed so I make it a point to schedule my other activities around her classes.

Music Together® is by far the finest musical experience I can share with my daughter. As a professional musician, my enthusiasm for this program rests somewhere alongside my adoration of the classics. The variety of musical styles, genres, moods, related physical activities in class and instrumental accessories astonishes me. Who knew scarves and balls could be musical instruments? The class focuses on enjoying music, sharing a musical experience, and growing to enjoy and love music. Who could ask for anything more?!

I have been taking my daughter to music classes since she was 8 weeks old (she is now 2.5 years). During this time we have had 5 different music teachers and Kate Battenfeld has rated among the best. My daughter loved her, her classes and her wonderful guitar playing during music class.

I started taking Music Together classes with my son when he was a baby, and was amazed at how much he got out of it, even as an infant! He would smile and wiggle and laugh, and would respond to the songs when I sang them or played the CD. Now he is almost 5, and is so creative when it comes to singing, making up songs, and dancing! It's been a great experience for both of us--Kate and MT have been a special part of our lives.

We are 8 session veterans of Music Together, 7 with Kate. The program is wonderful, with original as well as traditional songs - many of which linger in our minds (and voices) years after introduction. What made our experience very special, though, was having Kate as a teacher. She has a knack for engaging each child in a very personal way, while gently maintaining order over all. Each class is well-prepared and fresh. One can tell that Kate really loves what she does — and the kids really respond. Massachusetts' loss is California's gain. Don't miss it.
