MUSICAL KNOWLEDGE IS A BASIC LIFE SKILL We believe that music ability is as much a natural skill as walking or talking! The Music Together® curriculum is based on research that demonstrates that given a friendly, stimulating musical environment, all children will develop basic musical competence. Basic music competence is defined as the ability to sing in tune and keep a beat, and participate with confidence and enthusiasm in all types of music-making.
MIXED AGE CLASSES IN AN INFORMAL SETTING
Children in Music Together® mixed-age classes participate at their own levels and when they are ready--there is NO performance pressure. Children are not required to sit still; rather, they are encouraged to respond spontaneously to the musical environment. We use singing, movement, rhythmic chants, instruments, hand signals and lots of other ways to express ourselves musically.
FAMILY MUSIC MAKING NUTURES A SPECIAL BOND
Parent/caregiver participation is an essential and delightful component of this program. Music Together gives you the opportunity to fully participate in class with your child as we explore what music sounds like, looks like, and feels like. Music Together encourages you to bring music into your family's daily life and gives you lots of fun ideas on how to do so. Together, we will encourage musical exploration and nuture your child's musical development in a safe, creative environment.
